You have been threatening to do this for about 3 years now, but you are too scared to try just in case you get cut off.

It can be but knowing that the router wasn't going to be launched until September at one point (possibly later at the moment) I wasn't in a rush to take it apart.

Someone in the testing did take it apart and the first thing that you see is the PSU. Unless someone wishes to beat me to it, I shall post some pics of the inside in due course.

We also have plenty of pics of the packaging and router to show you all as well.

As for DM's comments, this is one reason why we hinted at people to get the Sagem 2504N if they needed a working Sky router immediately. Whilst the performance is better, I could not recommend holding out for the SR101 knowing that the specs weren't a huge improvement. It would be better to have a working router, albeit not quite as nice looking as the new SR101, than nothing for a couple of months.

Personally I would love this router to have offered a 300mb WiFi and 1Gbit LAN. If this had been offered, then I think that a huge number of the membership would have been queueing on the phone for one on the day of its launch.

The response has been because of the current clutter of WiFi routers in some areas struggling for the same channels on the available spectrum. Whilst there may be channels 1 through 13 available in the UK, in truth only 4 (1, 6, 11 & 13) are useful.

I have also made the point previously on this forum that many new Laptops and Netbooks are supplied with adaptors which will support WiFi n at speeds of up to 150mb/s, but only on a paired channel. On a single channel the same Laptops & Netbooks will only work at up to 72mb/s. This means that with the main router supplied by both Sky and BT you are only able to achieve half the potential of your LAN and you could never benefit from an 80mb FTTC connection with such a setup.

You mean you are actually using a 3rd party router?

Apparently you. You have to do a 'van Gogh' though, but I wouldn't recommend it.

No problem, but there is no news on this product at the present time.

This is exactly the problem I am presently facing on my 80mbit connection. It's not practical to use a network cable on a laptop on your knee (which is more common now, if not the norm) I get 72 over ethernet and 48 over 'n' wifi with the sagem. It's almost verging on SKY not supplying an achievable speed because of their limited hardware, and I'm paying for their premium broadband package. I have no interest in the new router now, which is a shame as it's quite nice.

      Billion/Draytek it is then.
