Re: How to configure NAT and PAT on F@ST2504n router

You will have a public address or your broadband would not be working. You can discover it by looking at the Status page of your router or using something like IP Address | IP Address Tracer | IP-Adress.com

If you mean you want to change your address you can only do this by rebooting your router or leave it switched off for a long period.

There is no way to configure NAT or PAT on the Sky routers.

Re: How to configure NAT and PAT on F@ST2504n router

Maybe proper explation will help. I have an application on my home computer (server side of the application), and i have the client of the appliction on my laptop. I want to be able to connect to the application from anywhere (using the internet). I was told i would need to configure the NAT and PAT of my router.

If you have a better way of doing it i would love to hear it.

      Cheers

Re: How to configure NAT and PAT on F@ST2504n router

To get it to work properly you will have to get a DDNS address, which will point at your network even if the IP address changes. Managed DNS | Outsourced DNS | Anycast DNS This used to be free, but you can get a free trial. There are many more free services.

You will then need to set up a Service and Portforwarding to your server. Free Help Forwarding Ports - PortForward.com will give you all the information you need to set up your equipment. Just click off the 'paid' advert, you don't really need it.

Any problems just post and someone will help you out.
