There is no information about a potential launch date available at this time.

Purely guessing at the moment, but it is likely to be late September or October at the present time.

Thanks for that Scubbie. Will keep an eye out with keen interest on developments. Certainly looks a nice piece of kit

It is certainly a nice looking router. The GUI is responsive.

There are a few things which we would like to see included and I am hoping that some will be added in due course. I think it is too late to add them before it is launched.

The main part of the the current process has been to debug the remaining issues.

On the whole the GUI isn't much different to the Sagem 2504N. The performance is much better though.

Just out of interest are the beta user on the same firmware as the non beta users?

      I'm on 1.15c.1989.R

Would be interesting to know if they are sending them out with an older or newer firmware.

Re: Have sky conned me with my router

      Hi,
I am joining sky BB at the end of this week 31st my router is on its way so I will be getting the 'old' router rather than the new? Are there anymore people who have received the new one recently or was this just a one off?
      Thanks
      Jim
PS ignore the router in my profile I had no idea which one was which so I picked the last one thinking it would be the latest and so the one I would receive.

Re: Have sky conned me with my router

Sky are still shipping the Sagem 2504N to everyone.

      There were some exceptions.

The development team wanted to verify the feedback and see just how well people find it to set up. They also wanted to see a few other things which the new customers would be unaware of.

One of the early comments was the initial connection time, for example.

The Sagem 2504N is a good solid router. Sure we criticise it on this forum, but there haven't been many reporting about it not working in the past year since it was launched.

There are many reasons for our criticism, such as the fact that you cannot change the DNS settings, the interface is a little slow for some people and the WiFi speed and LAN speed are a little slow for the more power hungry users. The locked down user interface is common to all of Sky's routers.

The predecessor to it (Sagem 2304n) is terrible in comparison. The user interface is painfully slow, the WiFi only supports 72mbps and the signal is quite weak compared to what you would expected from a modern WiFi n router.

I guess it is a little like saying "here is a 2011 Ford Fiesta, you can't get the 2012 Ford Fiesta yet", when you know that some people have been driving it on the road for a little while to test it.

Re: Have sky conned me with my router

Thank you Scubbie for the reply I have a Belkin N600 at present and I was thinking of using that once I get the details I require from the new router. I have seen how to get these details but once I have them where do I input them in the Belkin please?

I don't know the Belkin router. Could I suggest that you check the following sections:

Re: Have sky conned me with my router

The Belkin N600 is a plain router, ie, it does not have a modem built in. If this is the one you have you can only piggy back it on to the Sky router, not connect it direct.
