      Internet dropping out constantly

I have had a problem with my internet connection constantly dropping out. I have got a Sagem router provided by Sky and at least 10 times a day, the orange error led appears and the connection is lost. I have found a strange way of reconnecting that works most of the time - which is to phone Sky. As soon as the call goes through, it seems to wake up again without having spoken to an operator, etc. This does not work all of the time, however, and it is getting extremely annoying!

The statistics for my router are:
      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 3071 kbps 798 kbps
Line Attenuation 28.5 db 26.9 db
Noise Margin 10.8 db 7.1 db
I don't know what these mean to be honest but I was hoping somebody might be able to determine the problem from them.

      Please help!

      Re: Internet dropping out constantly

wow - You are getting dreadful speeds.

      ADSL2+ Speed Test

We estimate your line is capable of between 14mb to 16mb broadband on an ADSL2+ service. This ADSL2 Line Speed Calculator is a best guess only, as to the broadband speed that maybe possible on your telephone line. The checker provides results of up to 24mb with the data that is made available to us. This is purely for indication only and should not be classed as the Line Speed that you would receive on any ADSL or LLU product from another ISP.

Can you try again in the test socket and repost your stats?

Sounds like you have an issue with wiring etc or filtering etc
