You can use the 'Block sites' feature in the router settings. Use xbox as the block word for a start and set the times on the Schedule page. This should block access to all xbox related sites.

Re: Help Blocking Xbox After midnight

By setting up the Schedule to operate after midnight and until say 8am, no one would be able to access any specified sites.

However, if your own computer uses a fixed LAN IP address, you can place that into the 'Allow Trusted IP Addresses' and it would always be able to search Xbox sites, for example.

Remember to set 'Keyword Blocking' to 'Per Schedule'. All these settings are under the 'Security' tab and the lower tabs 'Block Sites' and 'Schedule'.

@Scubbie - Does the xbox go by domain names though?

If not then the keyword thingy won't work will it?

If you block UDP port 3074, by schedule or otherwise, then Xbox Live will return an MTU error. It shouldn't affect any other service.

To be fair I actually don't know how the Xbox refers to things. Since I don't have one I can't experiment either.

Re: Help Blocking Xbox After midnight

ok i did what you all suggested but did it for all devices instead of just his to test it and it knocked all 3 xboxs in the house off (as expected) and was great, until my nephew went and unplugged the router and turned it back on and it gave him a different IP address now iv added his MAC address to the reserved list and it has kept him on the same IP for over a week, it was only last night that when he restarted the router the last 2 digits off his IP went from ".04" to ".01".......any ideas lol. i know my nephew cant do much more than restart a router and apparently one of his friends told him that would work ... i cant let him win this battle of brains

      any help Guys?

      thanks again

Love it! I bet he was well upset.

How does he connect to the router? If he connects via a HomePlug, why not fit a timer switch to the HomePlug beside the router?

Also it might pay to show him the video in this link (he may get the hint ):
