      Question F@ST2504n VPN Issue

I moved to Sky BB a month or so ago from BT and have been having issues with my VPN connection through AT&T.

I mostly work from home and have been quite happily using my VPN connection to work with my BT Unlimited Package and routers. After moving to Sky Unlimited I have had problems with my Laptop getting Blue Screen crashes.. I can use the laptop and the BB connection fine without any issues for hours day weeks without any issues, but as soon as I connect to the company VPN server through the AT&T VPN client it crashes.

I understand there might be a Firmware upgrade available to make VPN work witout chrashing... are any of you aware of this or anything else I can do to resolve this or is my only option to go back to BT :-(

Here are the details on the router:

      Manufacturer Sagemcom

      Model Number F@ST2504n
      Firmware Version 5.23.1a4N
      ADSL Firmware Version A2pD030n.d23b

      Re: F@ST2504n VPN Issue

The 2504N is compatible with VPN, the older 2504 needed a compatibility upgrade. Did you uninstall and reinstall the VPN software when you started using the Sky router? If not that may be the reason for your problems.

      Re: F@ST2504n VPN Issue

I had the machine rebuild.. But I think some of the configuration files of the VPN installation might have been restored to the rebuilt image.

I will try to uninstall and try again..

      Re: F@ST2504n VPN Issue

I received a Sagemcom F@ST 2504N router in an attempt to improve my exceptionally poor wireless signal at home. It is about 1 week old.

      The new router specs are:
      Manufacturer Sagemcom
      Model Number F@ST2504n
      Firmware Version 5.23.1a4N
      ADSL Firmware Version A2pD030n.d23b

Both myself and my wife can work from home, both for the same company.
Since I replaced the original router with the 2504N router we are both seeing Blue Screens (BSOD) on our laptops when connected to the company VPN. This started happening shortly after the router was replaced, but the time it takes to blue screen varies a lot from once a day to every few hours.

The VPN software is AT&T Network Client V7.6.3.3012
The wireless connection on the laptop was configured with ThinkVantage Access Connections V5.5 build WLANv8

Neither myself or my wife had any issues with stability of our laptops prior to replacing the router.

All other devices, including MAC, XP and Win7 systems which are LAN connected are ok.

Wireless iphone, ipad and ipod appear ok too.

I thought I would post this in case others are seeing the same issues.

      Any advice would be appreciated.

Company help desk said they have seen this getting more frequent as the new SKY routers are getting installed. They have no fix and suggested I go back to the original router which I clearly do not want to do if a fix is available as the wireless signal is much better now.
