      Which Sagem Router is this?

      Hi,

Just a quick question. I think I have the Sagem F@st 2504 but I want to double check as there is no model number anywhere on it. I'm wanting to flash the custom firmware for it.

That looks like the Sagem F@ST 2504.

The D-Link 2640S & Netgear DG934G have the same case, but each has the manufacturer's name embedded on the case.

The Sagemcom F@ST 2304n & Sagemcom Path F@ST 2504N have smooth cases and not dimples.

As to what benefit you gain from placing it on some Aluminium foil, I'm not sure. From reading elsewhere about the WiFi aerials in modern routers, there would be nothing to gain. Positioning is far more important.

      Thanks for the info!

You'd be surprised at how much difference the makeshift wifi extender makes. Before it I only got 2 bars wifi upstairs, with the the foil i get the full 5 bars all the time.

If you are still confused, log in to the router's GUI and take a look at the 'Maintenance; page. It should say on there which model router you have.

It is a Sagem F@st 2504. It has no connection button and is rated wireless 'G' not 'N', as yours is. Sky will supply the 2504N at a cost of 35 pp.
