tried everthing suggested with no joy - but fitted a new wifi dongle and it works perfectly. I think it must be my adaptor but still doesnt explain why it works connecting to ther routers but just not this one but at least im up and running. i will look at the power saving settings now

Perhaps deleting the Sky router from the list of WiFi connections and then reconnect it may help?

As previously described, go to the 'Network Connection Properties', but for the Wireless adaptor. Click on the tab 'Wireless Networks'. Highlight your Sky router's SSID (name) and click the button to remove it from the list.

Once it has been removed, reboot & then go through the process of reconnecting to it. Ensure that you use the Windows software to connect and report back as to what happens.

Hi scubbie. Done that a few times to no effect. No spyware or viruses detected too.

Have reinstalled the zero configuration utility and all the protocols but still not working am beginning to suspect a weird fault with the adaptor which fir done reason only effects the sky router!!
