      Sky Router broken. Help installing a Belkin N

      Hi everyone,

      This is the first time I have posted so hoping I can get to the bottom of a very annoying problem. I've been trying to follow tips from previous posters problems but with no joy.

      Basically my Sky Sagem F@ST2504 router has given up. The only lights illuminated are solid green on @ and 1234. I've tried to reset etc. My pc cannot detect the router whatsoever.

      Anyway, I have purchased a Belkin N router Model No.F5D8633-4 to use instead (I am aware of the Sky T&C's regarding this) and have extracted my sky user name and password from the Sky router and tried to add it to the Belkin N with no luck.

      On the Belkin setup CD (Version 1.1.0), Sky is not listed in the list of providers so I click on the Don't you see your ISP in the list? Click Here section so I need to manually enter:

      VPI
      VCI
      Encapsulated VCMUX or LLC
      Connection type (which I believe is PPPoA)
      User Name & Password (which I know)
      Service name? This bit I'm stuck at.
      Connect on demand? Tick or untick?
      Timeout? Max 2 numbers.

      I am currently in a Sky Connect area and wonder if this is making any difference to the settings I manually enter?

      Any help would be greatly appreciated.

      Unfortunately I will not be able to assist you with your new router, however I can provide assistance regarding your Sky router.

      Can you confirm what troubleshooting steps you have completed? This is just so we advise further if needed.

      Connect on demand? Tick or untick?
      Timeout? Max 2 numbers....0 (usually means it is permanently connected, which is what you want.)

      With regards your Sky router, it looks like the PSU may be faulty. If you have a spare 12v PSU, try it and see if it helps.

      I have the same problem with the router as rossg81. Can you help with this problem.
