It is not reasonable to assume that Postage will be included in my mind since so many companies include postage in their prices.

It isn't as if there is a Sky Shop in the high street where you can pop in to pick up a router off the shelf for 35.

The postage charge should have been mentioned and failure to do so is likely to have fallen fowl of some regulations.

I believe that Tal71, and anyone else who is charged for Postage without being informed, will have a case to claim a refund.
I couldn't agree with you more. Like you say, a lot of places include delivery in with the price and with there been no mention of postage when I ordered, I assumed Sky were one of them places.

I don't think postage was extra when they supplied the original router for 28.

Thanks for posting this information. It seems strange why Sky initially charged me 3.50 for postage ????

I've kept all emails I received from Sky regarding the postage issue, for future reference.

Re: Sky's new Wireless 'N' Router...

Postage and packing is included in all routers sent, whether its a FOC one or a purchased one. Anyone who has been charged 3.50 p&p for a router should call for it to be refunded. The only time p&p is charged is on accessories like microfilters, ethernet cables etc, and in those instances we have no choice. If we don't take p&p the items won't be sent.

Re: Sky's new Wireless 'N' Router...

Received my router today and wow very fast. Settings all configured like my previous net gear. The stats show the upload slightly faster.
Now in the back room where I had little or no reception, iPad 2 can use sky go, htc phone have wifi!!!. Laptop signal is better ,though the laptop mode can only operate on "g" mode, but wife's laptop is newer and has "n" mode, and range is very good.
Ps3 will keep on home plugs, but the wifi signal was 30% better than on the old net gear.
So all in all quite happy would have been happier if I didn't have to pay for the router!!!! Thanks for this forum and other ppl posts regarding details of this router, at least for me it wasn't money down the drain! I might try and sell my old kit on fea-bay...

Personally I would actually recommend keeping it in case the new router develops a fault. This would provide you with a backup router.

Of course you are free to investigate custom firmwares instead.

Re: Sky's new Wireless 'N' Router...

I've been picking up wireless N signals around my area coming from Sky routers. Interested me enough to come check these forums for the details.

Do you think Sky will send out these new routers for free to replace the older ones?

Re: Sky's new Wireless 'N' Router...

I streamed some full hd video from my desktop PC to my iPad via the Air Video app. It played absolutely flawlessly, not a glitch, stutter of anything.

I just thought I would add this in case others are wanting to do this with the 2504.
