    Netgear router no internet

      Netgear router no internet

      Hi
      Had trouble yesterday getting connected to the internet
      Had an orange light on the internet connection so tried the usual ,turning off unplugging ,leaving for a while and re-booting,but to no avail.
      Light either went orange or no light at all.
      Tried all connections which all seemed fine.
      Any ideas before i spend hours on the phone to sky later

      All you can do is plug into the Test socket using only the cable supplied by Sky and see what happens there. Sky will probably ask you to do this, so it is as well giving it a try before you phone. There is a good chance your router is faulty, but it may be a line fault..

      ive just been going through all this crap with sky different reasons but they went through the steps with me over the phone, test the Router in the Test Socket also worth trying a different RJ11 (Telephone Lead) and Other MicroFilters if you have them to hand i found my speed fluctuated by nearly 1MB from my Worst Filter to the Best. they may still want to go through it with you at your end so they can monitor on there system.

      Is so frustrating when you are Technically compitent (more so than the guy/gal on the other end of the phone) and run through the steps they do to find when it still doesnt work that they want you to repeat the steps

      If you state that you've already tried the test socket with another filter, or 'crap' as you suggest, then that's great. But, you're going to be doing it again on the phone. Most no sync issues are internally related, so it has to be checked before replacing equipment or booking eng visits.

      been on phone to sky ,they had me going through the line testing stuff ,now waiting for engineer to ring me back
