      sky router issue

I was going to cancel with sky but when i rang up they offered me a better deal and to replace my dying netgear router. I had the netgear dg834gt and now have what appears to be a sagem 2504 although i am not 1oo% sure on this as it does not state anywhere the model number, am just going by what i have seen on other forum posts. It is a grey/blue color with lots of bobbly bumps on it.

Is this sagem router an up to date model or have i been given something old? the firmware version is certainly old as it is only 1.5sky.
is this the best router that sky now provide or have i just been fobbed off?

I am sure my old routers wireless was 108mbps and this one says 54g, does that make a difference ?

It looks like you have the Sagen F@st 2504. It is an older model, but performs quite well. Your firmware will update after a few hours online.

You would only have received benefit from using 108 mbps if you used compatible adapters. This would only make a difference in your LAN and would make no difference to the internet speed.
