      Amber Light on Sky Router

      Hi there,

      After using my Sky Broadband for a few years I turn it on today and encounter an amber light that would normally be green thus allowing me connection to the internet.

      I can connect to the Router since it shows up on the bottom right corner on the task bar but it simply will not connect to the internet, the light remains amber.

      I've tried unplugging, resetting, pulling the wires out and reconnecting and this hasn't solved anything.

      Can anyone help advise what to try next? I may not be able to reply quickly as I'm not using the internet from home.

      That's what I was told over the phone.

      Oddly, as soon as someone answered the phone (after being on hold). The second she says hello the amber light went green.

      This is an old problem I've had here, the only way I was able to gain access to the internet was by ringing someone up.

      Quite an odd problem, BT had a look at the exchange the first time it happend and said it was fine, there is no way I'm paying for them to look in my apartment.

      Thanks for the help. Since the router came back on I haven't switched it off.

      This sounds more likely to be a line fault.

      Could you connect your router to the test socket and post your router stats please?

      Also do you have any noise on your line when you are talking with anyone?

      To test this, using a corded telephone plugged in the test socket, dial '1' and listen carefully.
