      Re: Which Model?

As a slight aside, I have got a Netgear DG834N router running DGTeam firmware on which I can fiddle with SNR ratio etc.

I actually manage to get a better sync/attenuation and noise margin statistics via the Sagem router provided by Sky.

      Re: Which Model?

From the Thomson router supplied by O2 (this hasn't dropped it's connection in over a week):

      Maximum Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 1,308 / 18,656

      Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 1,325 / 15,139

      Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]: 12.0 / 18.5

      Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 18.0 / 32.5

      SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 6.0 / 6.0

      What do you think?

You've either got a very high quality line or your router is matched very well to o2's DSLAM.

      Re: Which Model?

I think I have a very good quality line. BT reconnected us just a few years ago, and damaged the outer covering of the cable when they did. As a result, the line deteriorated, and it took replacing the line pretty much as far as the cab to repair it.

That, and the filtering is done at the master socket, so theres not interference from the extension cabling anyway (not that there would be much anyway as, due to having abundance of the stuff, I cabled the telephone/data in the house with STP Cat5e)...

That, and it's an O2 supplied router...

I'm beginning to get cold feet. Is Anytime+ worth it?

This is a whole new debate. Could I suggest that you start a new thread in the Anytime section?
