Re: Obtaining Username and Password from Sagemcom F@st 2304

Looking at the underside of my Sagem F@ST 2304n I can clearly see the password is 8 capital letters and MAC Address is 12 characters long.

The serial number is not required for the Sagem 2304n when you use the Sagem F@ST 2504 link. It is however required for the Netgear DG934G link.

But you enter the LAN MAC Address and the Default Wireless Key

Nothing confusing about that, on the card or the back of the router that information should be on there?

(For clarity the default Wireless Key is the code that you would use as when the router is new / or never had the default wireless key changed by the owner)

If the default router key is 8 characters then that is what you use?

As per the post above yours.....
The MAC address on the back of the router differs from the MAC address on the router admin page. Which one should I use?

I don't think that the MAC address on the underside is the LAN MAC Address. It may be the WAN MAC Address, check this first. You need the LAN MAC Address.

As per the post above yours.....
I was beginning to wonder if I were using invisible typing

      EDIT
      - K63ogh seems to be asking questions in 2 different threads on this subject. Maybe if he/she stuck to one thread he would find it less confusing.

I apologize for the duplicate threads, I am new to this forum and I honestly don't know how to delete the other thread.
I believe what I gather everyone is saying is:
      1. Use the MAc address found on the back of the router. Please note the router that I am using because I am receiving replies from people using different routers and therefore asking me to follow different steps causing confusion.
      2. The default network key which is also on the back of the router. It is eight digit for my router.
      3. Sky router password generator it and get the user name and password.
      4. Encapsulation: PPPoA, VC based (not LLC)VPI: 0
      VCI: 38
      MTU setting be 1500

If there is anything I am missing, I would appreciate the information.
As for the duplicate thread, I will now only use this one and can only apologize.

Your settings are OK. Are you still unable to connect with your own router? If you are can you look at your stats, and report what it says on the WAN line in the Status column? It will be PPPoA, MER or maybe PPPoA/MER.
