What else are you looking for?

If cost is the primary factor, then a cheap WiFi n D-Link router is available for 24. The TP-Link TL-WR740N is available for 14.

Some routers have chipsets that match the Sky equipment in your telephone exchange. This can improve the download speed in some cases if you get the right pairing.

Other routers have USB ports that can be used for a printer or for an external drive.

      What about parental controls?

At the moment it looks like we're unable to crack the MER system, so you'll need to worry about that at a later date. PPPoA works well for most people though.

Note: I wanted to look at the on-line manual for the TP-Link router, but could access their website, you may have better luck

All routers which are not locked down like the Sky one, can have the DNS manually configured, so don't worry about that.

I think the TPlink TD-W8961ND is about the cheapest full wireless N modem router available and it has some very good reviews. It also has built in Parental controls which could be useful in your case and is well worth considering-

Re: Obtaining Username and Password from Sagemcom F@st 2304

      Hi

Can you recommend a source to get the password and username from a F@ST2304

The password generator site is not working and the .W file that I used to update the firmware seems to not work, it just reboots. I have downloaded the file multiple times

I am doing the update over wireless I assume that isnt the issue, any input would be appreciated

Re: Obtaining Username and Password from Sagemcom F@st 2304

The .W file is NOT intended for the Sagem 2304n. Unless you wish you to have a new fashionable doorstop, I would not recommend that you install this firmware.

For now the best suggestion is to wait a little linger and the site should be back up and running soon.

      Is the
      Default WPA network key:
the same as the serial number found on the back of the router?

Yes it is. Or on the card in the box.

Its shown on most routers a 'Network Key AAAAAAAA' . The Serial Number, which is about 14 characters long, is only required for the DG934.

I do not have the box but believe your information is misleading because for the F2304, the serial number has 15 characters while www.cm9.net the default WPA network key has eight characters. Can you please clarify why you think the fifteen character serial number found on the label on the F2304 is the default WPA key? You are confusing me.

Re: Obtaining Username and Password from Sagemcom F@st 2304

I haven't tried getting the username and a password for the 2304n

But you enter the LAN MAC Address and the Default Wireless Key

Nothing confusing about that, on the card or the back of the router that information should be on there?

(For clarity the default Wireless Key is the code that you would use as when the router is new / or never had the default wireless key changed by the owner)

If the default router key is 8 characters then that is what you use?

As per the post above yours.....

Its shown on most routers a 'Network Key AAAAAAAA' . The Serial Number, which is about 14 characters long, is only required for the DG934.
