      Changing :

      channel to 06
      Mode to Auto

      Security option
      WPA2-PSK

Seemed to stop my wifi going wobbly.

However I do still have random lockups of the router where it fails to serve traffic on port 80 (http).

That's about the same with me at present.

As much as I would love to suggest other interim fixes, I'm a little dried up at present and would love to get my hands on a new Firmware to see if this resolves the problems.

Of course if someone else can suggest anything, I would be happy to try them.

      Hmmmm ... that's strange ...

I've been running the router pretty fine all day. But out of curiousity, I ran a speed test. (Mainly as I'm not able to consistently get anywhere near the connect speed).

I've noticed that speedtest.net keeps locking up on the "uploading test" lately ... and it also locked the router up.

Scubbie ... can you give that a try and see if it does the same for you? Taa

although I've been downloading at 2.09MB/s consistently for the best part of the afternoon, so it's ok with heavy download traffic.

Just run it, no problems as far as locking up are concerned.

The results were poor purely because my connection is very busy just now and I used a WiFi connection.

      *** UPDATE ***

Well I've been keeping my router connected so I can work through issues with Sky regarding the 2304n.

It appears that because the restarts of the router over the past few days and the fact that it looks like DLM ran last night ... my router has re-synced at a lower speed.

Whilst it's about 4 meg slower on the download, it's also about 0.2 meg slower on the upload.

Fingers crossed it resyncs soon to where it was, as there were zero errors other than frequentish restarts.

Re: Sagem F@ST 2304n WiFi issues

I like the start of the post
We are aware that a small number of customers have been experiencing issues maintaining a stable wireless connection on ‘Sagemcom F@ST2304’ routers.
Small in relation to what! Sky's ability to play down serious issues never ceases to amaze me. Going by what has been brought to light on the forum it seems that all of these routers have 'issues'. There must be a great many more who have not posted here about the problem.

Sky should be suing the backside off Sagem.com for turning out a rubbish piece of equipment. Some may say that it is Sky's firmware which is causing the problem, but I doubt it

& still they got it wrong. Their suggested fix is for you to turn off the wifi on your laptop or whatever your using, yet we all know it is the wifi on the router that needs to be turned off.

I'm new to sky, are they this bad all the time?
      Is the pub open yet?

Re: Sagem F@ST 2304n WiFi issues

Is it a known problem on the standard 2304n router though?

If not then the custom firmware looks like to be a problem.

Anyways Sky have had a pretty poor track record with hardware and not just routers.

The Thomson HD box with the sub standard PSU.

Amstrads 1st HD box was 2 years late and lacks processor power.

Pace HD box with the dodgy BIOS and Sky claiming that the boxes needed the wires tying up to hide the real fault.

I'm sure I can find more but those are the ones off the top of my head.

I assume that Sky will now refuse to use Sagem routers in the future and find some other manufacturer who will supply to them dirt cheap boxes with custom firmware.
I'm a PC, and Windows 7 Backup saved my sanity when BitDefender imploded !!!
