Ah you put the full www. in, I just put in the keyword.

I'm using adblock+ now, but will change it shortly and give it a bash. See if it work ... in fact will do it now.

      Confirmed :

      FQDN blocking works fine. Hurrah.

Keyword blocking might have been my issue.

Re: Sagem F@ST 2304n WiFi issues

Just a question as I'm a bit confused here. I have a 2304n with the latest firmware and I'm trying to find the best wireless channel strengthwise. If I set the channel to 1 I get the best signal but mostly everyone in my area is using channel 1, if I set it on 13 nobody comes close but it reduces the signal alot.

      What should I do??

Use inSSIDer to determine the best channel.

See what it is like strength wise and see it it is any good.

As much as it is good practise to find the cleanest channel though, I am surrounded by over 40 WiFi hotspots where I am.

Signal strength is not everything, the quality of the signal is most important. It is a bit like turning the volume up full on a loudspeaker, it may be powerful and make a lot of noise but the quality will make it almost impossible to listen to. The same applies to a wireless signal, it is pointless having a strong signal if there is a lot of interference. Set your channel to one as far from those in use as possible, this will give you the best performance.

I am surrounded by over 40 WiFi hotspots where I am.
Your best bet is to make sure when you buy your new router that it supports 5gHz. Although this does not have the strength or penetration of a 2.4gHz model, it has a much wider frequency range, making it easier to find a clear channel.

I plan to next month. There is a Netgear DGND3700 out there with my name on it .

Some drivers for wireless cards show the signal to noise ratio as well as I have found that some channels can have a lot of noise on them.
I'm a PC, and Windows 7 Backup saved my sanity when BitDefender imploded !!!
