Flashed 2304N with 2505 firmware?
Wondering if anyone has tried this? Would be nice to put the generic firmware on the 2304, just wondering if it is that interchangeable...

I don't think it will work. No one's opened one up and posted details of the chips, or even a photo of the insides, so we don't know much about the hardware, but the ADSL firmware version suggests that it is a different Broadcom chip and the (limited) wifi N capability suggests the wireless chip is different too.
Also, if you were to replace the Sky firmware, it wouldn't be a Sky router anymore, so if you ever need support, or sky were to decide to block access to non-sky routers, you'd have a problem, unless you have another Sky router.

Probably best to leave it to someone with one of the faulty ones to do that
, but if you do open yours up do take some anti-static precautions.
