I understand that DLM will eventually make my internet unbearable anyway but just wanted to be sure I am not limited.

Use it as normal. Be aware that you need to leave the router on all the time for the next two weeks whilst DLM does its magic.

      PlusNet Fibre since Jan 2021
Previously Sky Fibre & Sky BB since 2010.

Obviously there will be blips in technology from time to time, but for the most part, DLM will leave the line optimised for the conditions. It just collates data throughout the day and, based upon the data, reprofiles the line between 1-6am; you essentially shouldn't notice any instability or problems during profile optimisation.

I think what he meant was when a filter or something breaks in say about a year that DLM will jump in and reduce the sync to try and counter it.

Since people tend not to realise that there is a problem with their setup, DLM keeps reducing it until they call and go through TS steps at which stage it can be reset.

getting much higher speeds...Liking this DLM thing

Also, are we allowed to use Tor and other such proxies to cover ourselves or is this breaking any form of rules by Sky?

      Re: Old vs new?

I cant see why it would be breaking any T&C.

      Although I haven't read them

Hotspot shield is a good one.
