      Sagem 2304N vs 2504N

Just been told by sky they are going to try and send me a 2504N after my 2304N is acting weird. The guy told me it might only be a slight model number increase, but the whole router is 1000 times better? I was wondering if this is true. I asked him how so, and he said the whole thing is built better, better spec, and tons more reliable.

      Re: Sagem 2304N vs 2504N

This forum hasn't been privileged to have a great deal of knowledge on this router as yet. There is a lot of confusion over how to identify the different between the two.

From what has been posted, the only sensible way at the moment is to install inSSIDer and look at the 'Max Rate' that the router can connect WiFi at.

The 2304n reports a maximum speed of 72mbps. This does not meet WiFi n requirements.

The 2504N is certified to WiFi n, so should have a minimum speed of 150mbps reported. Any further information would be gratefully received, including photos (inside & outside) and screen shots of the set up pages.

Well going off google images the 2304N is a smooth looking box whereas the 2504N has dots imprinted all over it, if that makes sense. The lower model is smooth, the newer one is rough to the touch.

      Re: Sagem 2304N vs 2504N

I havent seen any pictures of the 2504N yet so if indeed you do get one make sure you post pictures and a mini review.

I have a 2304N and so far for the last 8 weeks since I moved to Sky Broadband it has been rock solid and I use it for Xbox Live, PlayStation Network and many other devices and it seems to have no problems with any of it.

Although if the 2504N is indeed a much better router as I suspect I think mine may start to play up... lol

Can you point us to a picture of the 2504N, it looks like you are describing the standard 2504. I would be surprised if the new model does not follow the HD box look.

I have to agree with Tom. I just googled for some pictures and nothing representing a router appeared.

I'd also be surprised if they didn't stick with their new design case.

As I mentioned in another post, going by the the adsl module's firmware version, I think the 2304N may be broadcom 6328 based, same as the Sky-dlink dsl-2640s and the billion 7800NL

Yeah it would be the standard 2504N I was looking at, I completely forgot that Sky re-cased them, sorry guys, I am still waiting on delivery, with expected monday/tuesday.

I will post pictures and info of course as soon as I have set it up.

Standard 2504, there is no N at the end which distinguishes it from the new model.

Would it be like this one -
