      Sky Router Help!!!

Hey, well i dunno if this is to do with port forwarding or no, but when i am using google chrome and counter strike 1.6(non steam), my router usually disconnects and i get the
      'Error 105 (net::ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED)
on google chrome. But when i have utorrent open, i do not get it as frequently as that but i do lagg a little bit on the internet and have to refresh the page a couple of times. I tried rebooting my router, but that did not help, and my router settings are as follows:
      Spoiler Below

      Other information:
I am using Belkin Surf & Share Wireless USB Adapter and its settings on advance properties are:
      802.11d=Enabled
      Beacon Interval = 500
      PSP XLink Mode=Enabled
      Radio On/Off=Enabled
      Wireless Mode=Enabled

Even though i am not playing Counter Strike at the moment, it is still disconnecting frequently. I dont even have utorrent open aswel. Please can someone help me, urgently
      Thanks In Advance

      Re: Sky Router Help!!!

If your router is as mentioned can you post your detailed stats Mel's Notes?

With your attenuation you should be getting around 6Mb

Is your current setup master socket>microfilter>sky supplied ADSL cable>router?

Have you got a Test Socket?

If it is disconnecting its possible that your line is building a large amount of errors.

Did you ever ask for a Gamer profile?

      Re: Sky Router Help!!!

      Errors don't look bad

      Are you connecting wirelessly?

      If you are:

      open command prompt
      start>programs/all programs>accessories>command prompt

type in netsh wlan show all

Check and see what channels your neighbours are using.

Looks like yours is on channel 6 See this for channels that cross talk with 6

Best options if they are not in use are 1,11 or 13

Think that it only works on windows vista and windows 7

You can download inSSIDer and it will do the same. The link can be found in my signature.

When you run the program it will list all the networks that are in range and also tell you the channel that they are on.

It will also tell you what the signal strength is.

it will say with each network listed underneath

SSID RSSI Channel Vendor Privacy Max Rate Latitude Longitude Network type

all you have to do is look at all the channels that are mentioned and then post them and we can tell you what channel would be best for you to set yours to, so that you don't get interference.

I have never heard of it causing issues. Remove it and see if the issue is still present.
You don't really need it anymore, it has already served its purpose

Your best bet would be to set your channel to 1
