      Router keeps dropping connection

      Guys,

I'm having right issues tonight with my broadband.

Its dropped connection about 60 times in the last 3 hours.

Can anyone see if my stats look strange because I haven't got a clue.

      System Up Time 00:16:17
Port Status TxPkts RxPkts Collisions Tx B/s Rx B/s Up Time
      WAN PPPoA 4581 5533 0 732 6356 00:15:46
      LAN 10M/100M 1571 0 0 394 0 00:16:14
      WLAN 11M/54M 11898 10240 0 8720 1753 00:16:06

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 3070 kbps 798 kbps
Line Attenuation 49.5 db 32.4 db
Noise Margin 8.6 db 9.6 db

I usually have the Modem upstairs, but Ive plugged it into the main socket and i'm still having the same problem.

As i'm sat here typing this, its lost its connection again.

Its strange and i'm sorry if this means nothing but, just before its about to drop, the Noise margin speed on upload goes over 100db?

If Ive missed any information you need, please let me know.

      Regards
      Dan

      Re: Router keeps dropping connection

If your main socket is an NTE5, remove the faceplate and plug it into the test socket. Take the stats from there.
How to test your ADSL in the Master Test Socket

An impossibly high upstream noise margin is sometimes caused by a dodgy filter, try changing the filter, for a no Sky one if possible.
