      Sky CD Rip?

Trying to flash my DG934G but the problem is I threw away the original CD (I always configured routers via Telnet/web interface [cisco guy]) however I really need the flash utility to put on the DGTeam custom firmware.

For some reason the normal netgear one doesn't recognise it?? (recovery utility)

      Please help!

      Thanks
      Darren

      Re: Sky CD Rip?

I think the Recovery Utility on the CD is the same one as on the Netgear site. You may have to flash to standard firmware before you put on the DGTeam firmware. Have a look here - http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/techn...tml#post148447

You can get a copy of the DG934g firmware here - ftp://downloads.netgear.com/files/GP...44_src.tar.zip

and the Recovery Utility here - DG834, DG834G Router Recovery Utility

Hmm. Must be an operating system error then as all my installs are pretty mashed being a developer (hah).

Just tried doing it on a virtual machine and it found my router for once, however, it then decided to blue screen! Luckily this was just an old DG834GT that is semi-bricked. Hmmm.

      Re: Sky CD Rip?

Ah! Problem. The software goes to find the router, but then says no img or bin found. The D934G firmware you linked me to is .tar format.

What do you recommend? Renaming the extension or finding a different firmware?

I was trying to rule out the router being the problem so was testing on my old DG834GT to see if that got found by the Netgear utility.

I'm assuming the router needs to be in recovery mode for any effect, also?

Yh, take out the power supply from the router.
Stick a pin in the reset button and hold it while pluggin in your power supply.
When you get the alternative flashing lights you are in flash\recovery mode.

      Re: Sky CD Rip?

For some reason no computer can see either of my routers.

Im tempted to install a Vanilla copy of XP Sp3 to see if that solves anything

Sorry, I should have said this is the complete package including the source code. You have to extract it using WinZip or 7Zip and there you will find the actual image file.

The router needs to be in recovery mode with alternate flashing power and tick lights for the Recovery Utility to work.
