Sagem Router Red Light, Connection Seriously Slow.
Hi guys,
Since the update to firmware 2.8 my Sagem router from Sky had become very faulty.
The connection drops significantly even when only 1 device is using the router.
Ive noticed that when I reset it the internet light now goes Red, it has never been red since ive had it.
Does anyone have ideas to what this could be?
I can connect to the web but its really slow. Even a reset wont solve the problem.
*** EDIT***
Just thought id point out that its only the internet light thats going red, not the power light or any of the others. Ive read posts that say its a power problem but this is just my internet light.
Many thanks.

Re: Sagem Router Red Light, Connection Seriously Slow.
The internet light going red on the sagem routers does indeed usually indicate a PSU issue. Do you have another 12v PSU that you could test out - perhaps a laptop charger?
What are your stats like?

Re: Sagem Router Red Light, Connection Seriously Slow.
Ah really? Doesnt sound promising! I may have one somewhere ill have to have a look around, as soon as I find one then ill post the results on here.
As for my stats...
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 6141 kbps 796 kbps
Line Attenuation 39.0 db 20.4 db
Noise Margin 7.1 db 10.5 db
Hope this helps, and thank you for your quick reply!
- Also ive noticed sky have slowly been cutting my speed, started at 8mbs, then 7mbs now its down to 6mbs.

Re: Sagem Router Red Light, Connection Seriously Slow.
Looks like DLM has set the line to 6144/800 adsl2plus at the moment. Whether or not the power supply issue is linked to your speed issue, that's something you'd need to test out whenever you get hold of another PSU.
In the mean time, if you can take your stats from the test socket (link below) with just a filter and the short grey dsl cable that Sky provided running to the router. At least we can rule out internal wiring at this point.
