Re: new sky router being sent
They will have a contract with the suppliers, when that expires they will shop around for a cheaper alternative. Whether the replacement will be any better or not is anyone's guess, the Ver 2 routers were certainly not much of an improvement on the DG834GT, which is still available retail.

Re: new sky router being sent
good point which makes me think should i stay with my DG934 sky router and not bother with the new D-Link? but then something inside me is suspicious and thinks new is better and must be a reason why we was told use the D-Link.

Re: new sky router being sent
Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with any of the routers Sky supply, apart from the very restricted firmware. The Sky Dlink is based on the DSL 2640B which is a very popular router.

Re: new sky router being sent
Plenty of noise margin in hand, you should get 8Mb+ with that properly configured.

Re: new sky router being sent
There's nothing wrong per say, it's just capped at 6144/800. If you're fussed, a call to Sky could see some more speed.

Re: new sky router being sent
how can a novice like me convince sky its capped lol won't they say "so why do u think that sonny boy" is there something technically i should say?
Is there any disadvantage? phone line calls?
I suppose using my D-Link wont make a difference.
btw its plugged in master socket and i use Sky talk,on sky unlimited.

Re: new sky router being sent
You literally just have to say that you think your speed is a little slower than it should be. The advisor, assuming he/she can do their job correctly, should get you sorted one way or another.
