Ok this started about 2 months or so ago. I'm on holiday from work all week so now have the time to investigate.
Connection is dropping at random. Been using my own Netgear DG834G Router, extracted username/password from black Sky router about 2 years ago. Download speed was a rock solid 16Mb for the last 18 months or so, now sitting at 13Mb. I am connected and have always been to the master socket. Don't use wireless it's turned off. I've reset the router, I have the latest firmware/drivers, changed filters etc no joy. I've also noticed on other threads a common theme that people are getting random disconnections, it cannot all be down to routers. Are Sky doing testing of some sort and not informing us? Before I forget I've been on their unlimited service since joining.

Re: Connection Woes
Do you have phone rental with Sky? If so you have probably been put on the SVBN, which many are finding causes problems.
Post your stats, from the normal position and from your Test socket.
How to get your router statistics
How to test your ADSL in the Master Test Socket
If you still have it, plug in your Sky router and see what it gives. This would rule out your own router as being the cause of the problem

Note - When downloading always select the Custom install or you will end up with stuff you don't want.

Re: Connection Woes
Nope don't have Sky phone only Broadband and Satellite, my brother went with their phone service and cancelled, he said it was the most appalling service he's ever had so I never bothered even though they bug me about it every week or so.
