thanks simonmpoulton.
I will disconnect 2nd master socket at the jn. box tommorrow and then check for improvements. I also have ordered the bt iplate but not sure if it will do anything as bell wires are already disconnected.

Re: can i use old sky router
It is very good. It raises your potential sync speed by quite a bit. You should now see 6-7Mb.

Thanks Isitme. So hopefully synch speed will go up.
Now I have to work out how to connect my sky+ box as it was connected through the second master socket.

Re: can i use old sky router
If you've got a spare cable pair going back to the first master socket in the junction box simply join that up with the cables from the second socket and then connect those wires up to the first master socket faceplate - you'll probably need to use a filtered faceplate if you do this though!

Re: can i use old sky router
Thanks simonmpoulton.
Sometime solution is very simple and infront of your eyes but you need another person's eyes to see it. Yes I have the orange/white wires as spare. I'll connect them as extension from the first master socket .
As I'm going to use second master socket as an extension, I think i can use the normal filters in the second socket rather than putting a filtered faceplate.
