To be honest, after I set up the Netgear with my own settings, I'm planning to go with my Speedtouch 780 instead and put the Netgear in the box for backup.

I've got few more spare routers here, couple of 2Wire 2700HG's, a 2nd Speedtouch 780 and a golden oldy Speetouch 530. I'm going to compare the Netgear with my Speedtouch 780 and try out the 2Wire 2700 for the first time when I get switched over to Sky. For now I'm on fixed speed 1mb so I can't compare the three for sync speed.

Is there any reason why the firmware is not on this forum anymore? After all sky hand the firmware out on disc so they can't be that bothered, and I would have thought sky want their users to use there own firmware? So for anyone who flashes to the generic then want's to flash back but can't find there disc it would be in sky's interest to provide the firmware otherwise people will just call and say there router is broke just to get it back?
It's against Sky's T&C's to change the firmware on the router! Also I don't believe (I may be wrong) that the license with which Sky distributes it's firmware allows for redistribution hence having it on here could be illegal.

We are not allowed to host it and afaik we have never done so. We did ask ages ago but got knocked back on copyright reasons.

I know it's against sky's terms & conditions and they can feel free to cancel my broadband and sky tv accounts if it bothers them so much!!

If anything it would breach copyright laws and seeing that the firmware is based on open source which is prob the reason why they provide the firmware on the cd in the first place I doubt I can worry about a hefty prison sentence just yet!!

A new firmware release for the Sky Netgear routers is due to be pushed out sometime soon.
I couldn't tell you exactly when, because I don't know.

I am not sure why you would want to use the oldest and least stable firmware, but PM me your proper email address and I will oblige.
