      Sky Q 1tb to a Q 2tb

      Hi all
      My first post.
I have a 1tb Q box and I have seen for sale a 2tb Q box, will my viewing card work out of my box when its put into the 2tb or will I have to contact Sky to pair them up?

I take it you do know that the box is not the vendor’s property to sell?

The box, at all times, is on loan from Sky so remains their property. That is the basis upon which a subscriber enters into the agreement for Q with Sky.

      Lifted, directly from Sky’s website.....

Just to clarify, wonnyjilkinson is correct about the Q Boxes. All the previous Sky satellite boxes did indeed become the property of the customer after 12 months. Sky changed the system with Sky Q.

There is an issue with people selling them on eBay and other places. Sky have in the past got eBay to take the listings down and have often contacted the customers directly.

On the more serious side, if a cancelling customer fails to return their Sky Q box within a specified period, Sky will bill the customer. They will also still require the Q box to be returned. That is all in the T&Cs.
