Sky Mini and HP Procurve 1810G

      Hi all,

This is a weird one, had sky q for a few months now with 2 mini boxes. the main box had been crashing a lot so was replaced at weekend. engineer tried to say it was internet and wifi due to having no signal...

When he reset the minis back up, I told him they had to be wired due to poor wifi signal - he enabled this but on one of the units it stopped working while plugged into the 1810G and because of poor wifi it wasn't useable.

I know there is nothing wrong with the switch or the cables as i plugged in my tplink wr1043nd running dd-wrt and that was detected on my network without issues using the same cable. i also tested with a laptop and other devices connected and they all worked. plugged the sky mini back in and no connection. plugged the mini into a cheap tplink switch and it worked fine using the same cables.

Anyone else come across this can of issue

Managed ports, have you set mac address security on the ports and have the mini plugged into the wrong port? I've seen that happen before, not with sky devices but with other kit.
