Dish and stream, depending on the content you're watching. Live UHD sports is dish for example, UHD films are downloaded and/or streamed I believe.

Currently Kemp's answer is spot on.

Of course Sky could change things at a later date

      Re: Sky UHD content

The reason I asked (for him) is that he's currently with Virgin, but has never had an fttc connection. And with what I know about his line, it might end up being on the edge for streaming UHD content So satellite delivery would be his best bet. He's keen for the sports and I wouldn't mind watching a few F1 races in it myself next year

      Re: Sky UHD content

Any new Sky TV customers are now being sold Sky Q. Even people who wish to upgrade to MultiScreen are now being pushed onto Sky Q.

Whilst Sky+ HD is still available, it is only being supplied where the customer is unable to have a suitable LNB fitted, so this will typically be some Communal Dishes.

      Re: Sky UHD content

I decided to buy the AJ v Milina fight on PPV last night and was very disappointed to find it wasn't broadcast in UHD. I watch football and get most of that in UHD now with my Sky Sports package. I took it for granted a PPV sports event would be aired in UHD given the additional cost. Very disappointed Sky.

      Re: Sky UHD content

In fairness to Sky, they did only ever advertise the Premier League as their sport 4K offering.

That said, it can't be too difficult to cover the boxing and the rugby too, but then we are dealing with Sky.

      Re: Sky UHD content

      To be fair to Sky
The boxing is only supplied by Sky as a Box office event through agreement.
Its a shared money making venture.
Sky do not produce it completely themselves. Boxing is all done via the promoters and so they may not have requested it to be produced it in UHD.
