Standard contention ratios from IDNet | Broadband | Contention Ratio
says residential is 50:1 and business is typically 20:1, although some providers offer 'uncontended broadband'. So to answer your question its obvious that NO they wont be on the same deals although i would bet they get the same people on the phones if they hit a problem!
Wonder if anyone from Sky would confirm if hotels/pubs speak to the same people for their tv packages that joe public do, which would probably confirm it would be the same for business internet.Last edited by Russ; 08-03-07 at 12:56 PM. Reason: added the would anyone from sky confirm

Re: Nearly half a million Broadband Subscribers
From the stats of the IP's that visit this site, Easynet IP's are going up and up and up. It must be the IP range that Sky use has been registered with the name Easynet and not Sky. Seems as they are effectively the same company, I would not worry about it.
The other reason could be the bogons issues with the registration name etc and sites that don't work but I doubt that really is the reason.Last edited by NewsreadeR; 08-03-07 at 01:28 PM.

I don't think there is any chance of me being able to get Sky Broadband this year......maybe 2008.

Re: Nearly half a million Broadband Subscribers
Sky announced with their results that they had 256k subs at the end of January, so to increase this to 425k at the end of Feb would imply 170k new subs in Feb. This seems a lot since they only added 63k in Jan?? it is a terrific performance but just checking if your numbers are 100% reliable? btw thanks for all the info you provide

Re: Nearly half a million Broadband Subscribers
Hi
Figures from various of my sources seem to suggest on average 3.5k signups a day. So if we do the maths 38 days x 3500 = 133k - so not a million miles off.
As for 100% reliable? I cannot say 100% but I would have thought close.~ Never, ever, argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience ~

Re: Nearly half a million Broadband Subscribers
when ever an ISP comes up for sale then your find all the big ISP's showing an interest, it dosn't say if it is onlt pipex the isp for sale or the whole pipex group which includes...
pipex
freedom2surf
nildram
jolt and a few others (i think)
if it did include the above then it would be worth Sky snaping it up"To help would be a great adventure"

Re: Nearly half a million Broadband Subscribers
afaik Pipex has a WiMax licence WiMax BT would very much like to get hold.
BT, Pipex rivals, not potential bedfellows News - PC Advisor
I reckon it would be between BT and Sky and Carphone Warehouse to fight this one out.Last edited by NewsreadeR; 16-03-07 at 07:43 PM.
