Sky Core Network - Positioning Sky Core network for massive VOD growth
Some of you may find this a rather useful piece of information to show not just how Sky have improved their core network, but also how they intend to continue improving things.
For those of you who are not technically minded, the core network in the infrastructure which your Sky Broadband or Sky Fibre connection goes through, along with all the other Sky Broadband and Sky Fibre customers.
If you think of your Internet connection as a fast single carriagway, with your Sky Hub allowing multiple devices to share that single connection, the core network is a very fast, multi-lane motorway with many junctions with a huge number of people using it.
The video above shows how much Sky have needed to do to increase not just the number of lanes, but also to increase the speed of traffic since Sky Broadband was launched in 2007.

Your welcome. It was suggested by someone else.
I appreciate that some of the discussion might go over the heads of some members, but it contains some useful background information that I believe many will find useful.
