Hello All
I think if you care to look you will find that Mr Darroch is actually the 'CEO ' of Sky
therefore he has the ultimate say on the Policy also I suggest you read some of his
recent Mission Statements given to the Bankers & various Financial institutions regarding
extracting further income from the Customer Base : The recent rise in payments from
the Talk increase is a good example : £4 increase for basically the same Service plus two
package increases in One Year.
Be in no doubt that the SkyQ service will not be affordable for All : This will be a Premium
Service at a Premium Price with maybe a few offers to begin with but they will not be for
everybody unless you are prepared to Top the £100 mark for a full package which for many
would be out of the question.
With the prospect of interest rate rises some time in the future the priority for many a family will be mortgage / rent before anything else.
Just a Thought..................
PS : Mr Darroch's megre salary for 2015 , a shade under £17 Million Pounds.
I expect a full SkyQ Package may be a company perk this year.......!!Last edited by wizard200; 17-01-16 at 07:53 PM.

Re: Sky Q to bring even more entertainment to the big screen
They are a business after all and in the game of selling programs to customers and if said customer cannot afford the top package as above topping over £100 a month then don't buy it and shut the F up and stop complaining.
Its a buyers market and if Sky was not making money, gaining new customers then they would not be in business today so in effect they are selling a product that appeals to their current customer base and new customers.
If you cant afford it don't get it.
If you aint got it stop bitching.
Drives me nuts when people complain all the time "Sky is expensive I cant afford it" so reduced your package then so you can afford it but people will not do that because they want the top package for bugger all, they want the best gear for bugger all and they have the cheek to complain about it.

Well said ^^^ I don't even have all the TV and my monthly sub is over £90 a month, but that includes Talk, Fibre Pro, plenty of TV. I'd happily pay another £20 a month for Sky Q.

Re: Sky Q to bring even more entertainment to the big screen
Agreed, but then again I have always felt that Sky should also operate a policy of "the price is the price". Anecdotal evidence seems to suggest that many people have managed to negotiate significant discounts on the full price, which consequently upsets those who (for whatever reason) pay the normal prices. Unfortunately I've had no luck trying the same thing when i do my weekly shop down at the local supermarche...

Totally agree with you.
The one area that bugs me to death is when a customer calls to say I have a problem and they've had Sky for say 5 years the poor advisor says "sure that's £65.00 please" the customer says I'm not paying that and again the same argument starts, why should I pay that Ive been with you for 5, 10 or 15 years plus.
Well would you say the same thing to Hoovers, Ford etc no.
Sky is the only company I know that backs down, gives different prices to different customers and they should all sing from the same hymen sheet if you ask me.
If you cant afford the service call fee they by all means cancel that's up to the customer after all.

The Sales of Goods Act does actually cover you on failed equipment. I've had many items replaced for free when they have failed outside of the manufacturers warranty/guarantee. Know your rights.
I do agree that subs thing is wrong though, although there's no reason why you can't negotiate your own deal. Sky should just give a more reasonable cost to everyone as opposed to full whack for some and half price for others.
