Last night Sky was highly commended in the Corporate Social Responsibility in Customer Contact category, at the CCA Excellence Awards 2015. This category recognises businesses demonstrating a commitment to corporate social responsibility that has benefitted its employees, customers, the business and the wider community. Sky were among six shortlisted companies, including Tesco, Lloyds and British Gas and scooped the highly commended award for its commitment to unlocking potential in young people through Sky Academy.

Sky Academy is a set of five initiatives that use the power of TV, creativity and sport to help young people build practical skills and experience reaching one million young people in the UK and Ireland by 2020. The five initiatives Sky Sports Living for Sport, Sky Academy Skills Studios, Sky Academy Careers Lab, Sky Academy Starting Out, and Sky Academy Scholarships cover all ages, from primary school right through to those starting their careers.

The CCA Excellence Awards is a respected recognition programme and the judging panel includes professionals from all sectors and senior executives with wide-ranging experience in customer contact and customer service.
