Re: UK ISP Sky Broadband to Drop Superfast Unlimited Fibre Price to GBP7.50
Must have been my lucky day then! The key factors seemed to be that I have been a Sky customer for 12 years, that I was clued up on competitor's prices (see previous pricing analysis!) and had a clear goal in mind (get SFUP at SFU price) using my out-of-contract status for both talk & broadband as a bargaining tool. This led to some discussion about how/why the additional throughput speed would be useful (we do a lot of On Demand & Catch Up TV downloads, movie streaming). Anyway, job done, sorted! I think Sky's standard pricing for fibre broadband still needs to change to be more competitive, but this gives (for me) another 12 month window for something to happen on that front.

Re: UK ISP Sky Broadband to Drop Superfast Unlimited Fibre Price to GBP7.50
Sky have said sorry for their mistake and have offered me 2 free months of TV. Which I am happy with as I am on the top package.
As mentioned before, I have managed to get the 6 months of fibre for £7.50 which will replace the £7.50 I am paying for unlimited.
Then come Oct, when my 12 month line rental expires, I will be in a good position to see what is on offer then......

Re: UK ISP Sky Broadband to Drop Superfast Unlimited Fibre Price to GBP7.50
I had been online with Sky now for 5 years last month, but was getting fed up with the low 4Mb broadband that I had. So I rang Virgin Media and was offered a very good deal to migrate my broadband, phone & TV. With the Virgin box literally outside my drive I was going to get maximum speeds. So I rang Sky to confirm that I was out of contract and to give my months notice.
When the CSA heard I wanted to leave she put me through to Retentions. The CSA there listened to my wish to leave and offered me 12 months Sky Fibre Unlimited @ £10/month, no connection fee as I already had a new SR102 router as long as I took line rental from Sky.
So I changed my mind and accepted their offer.
Obviously if Sky Fibre doesn't live up to its name. After 12 months I can still change to Virgin.
having said that; my download speed is 30Mb and my upload speed is 5.5Mb. Compare that to my previous broadband speed and you can see it was worth £2.50 extra a month.Old MIG15 pilot.
