Re: Sky unveils a new subscription service - Sky Go Extra
No doubt everyone else will soon be receiving the same email, but I've just had this mailshot from Sky:
We've changed Sky Go –
but we're giving you something extraHello ************, We've changed the way Sky Go works, which means you can no longer download movies and shows to your PC, Mac or laptop to watch offline. You're still able to stream live and on demand though, at no extra cost. To give you an even better offline viewing experience, there's new Sky Go Extra • Register up to four devices, including mobiles and selected tablets, and download to them all • Then watch offline and on the move – no more signal interruptions or buffering We're giving it to you free for 3 months. And if you love it as much as we think you will, it's easy to keep and great value at just £5 extra a month. If it's not for you, don't worry, we'll automatically remove it on 21 April. To enjoy Sky Go Extra, just update the Sky Go app or go to go.sky.com You'll see the new download feature there waiting for you.

Re: Sky unveils a new subscription service - Sky Go Extra
As Scubbie already said, bear in mind that there's a 31 day notice period to cancel (which cannot be actioned online, so phone them if you need to!) because the subscription to Sky Go Extra is treated as being a part of the TV subscription side of things at "Sky Central".

I haven't upgraded to plus but I have updated the app on ipad2. I have the same problem as Ben - it doesn't let you watch live TV.

Re: Sky unveils a new subscription service - Sky Go Extra
Id wait as it seems they are giving people 3month trails automatically which won't automatically renew unless you sign up.
I got the email after signing into sky Go to remove my laptop (Had to rebuild it after it crashed so would have needed to re-add it) so I wonder if it was coincidental or if it's triggered by signing into sky Go.
