Sky confirms 70,000 homes sign up to Sky 3D
Sky’s Chief executive, Jeremy Darroch, said today:
“3D has got off to a great start with around 70,000 customers having signed up to the service in the first few months. We are very happy with the progress of 3D to date and are really encouraged by the feedback we are getting from customers."
John Cassy, Sky 3D’s channel director, added:
“Around half of all 3D TVs sold so far in the UK are connected to Sky 3D, with thousands more joining every week. The hugely positive response from customers, all of whom are tuning into Sky 3D on a weekly basis, gives us great confidence for the future. Since the launch on the 1st October we have had a number of world firsts – with the world TV premieres of Avatar, Alice in Wonderland and the Toy Story trilogy.
“Coming up we will have our 100th live sports 3D broadcast, further cementing our position as a world leader in 3D sports production. We are also continuing to increase the breadth of our 3D programming, including performances by Diversity, natural history documentaries from Sir David Attenborough, and another world first, an upcoming broadcast of ENO's new production of Donizetti's Lucrezia Borgia”.~ Never, ever, argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience ~

I can't see the TV manufacturers being too happy with only 140k or so TV's being sold in 2010 in the UK.
Given how much they have had to have spent in development and marketing they must be praying that a big upsurge will be on the way soon.I'm a PC, and Windows 7 Backup saved my sanity when BitDefender imploded !!!

Don't forget Sky 3D was only launched on 01/10/10 so the majority of those sales for the year would have been in the last quarter of the year.

Don't have it either, but from what I have read in reviews, 3D in gaming is more a distraction. Rather than improving the game it detracts from it..
