Sky HD Channels Update
On the 18th October 2010 Hallmark Channel HD will re-brand to Universal Channel HD.
Hallmark Channel HD has a loyal audience with a strong line-up of content, however the re-brand to such an instantly recognisable channel name will allow it to further its appeal to a new audience and add great new HD content, such as Rookie Blue and Shattered.
We have an exciting period of HD channel launches coming up, with 3 channels joining Sky+HD in the next week. Our 47th, 48th and 49th HD channel launches mean we are fast approaching our target of 50 and bringing our customers more of the everyday TV they love in extraordinary high definition.
49 and counting…
Monday 4th October – our 47th HD channel
Natural history and high definition has always been a stunning combination, so we’re pleased to welcome Eden HD to Sky+HD this week. With iconic programmes such as Planet Earth, Life and Nature’s Great Events, Eden HD will showcase the Earth’s majesty in glorious high definition. The channel will only be available on Sky at launch and will be found on channel 559 in the UK and Ireland.
Tuesday 5th October – our 48th HD channel
Nick HD is the first kids’ channel to join Sky+HD and will be broadcast as a simulcast of the standard definition channel, bringing kids their favourite shows such as The Penguins of Madagascar, iCarly and Fairly Odd Parents in superb picture detail. It will be available in both the UK and Ireland on channel number 632 and at launch will only be available with Sky.
Thursday 7th October – our 49th HD channel
ITV2 HD is launching on Sky this week, perfectly timed to catch the fallout from the first of the X Factor live shows backstage with Konnie Huq on the Xtra Factor. Other favourite shows in high definition on ITV2 HD include Vampire Diaries and Gossip Girl. ITV2 HD will be exclusive to Sky+HD at launch and will only be available to our customers in the UK. Please check the Sky Guide for the EPG number mid next week.~ Never, ever, argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience ~

Re: Sky HD Channels Update
F1 will not be in HD, this is mainly because it is not filmed in HD so don't expect too much.
FOM who supply all the TV feeds have said that it may be a few years yet before they see a need to do it because there are very few people in their customer base worldwide who actually have HD tv's to view it on.

Re: Sky HD Channels Update
i think BBC HD was a joke for a long time, considering every other channel had what they had in non HD on their HD same time like channel 4 had for long time then ITV but BBC allways played the repeats in HD while all the decent programmes were played in normal standard, made no sense.
