Re: Rumour: Changes to Sky+HD Subscriptions from 1st October 2010
Definately not a rumour anymore then as we had just had our Sky magazine and it mentions it on the letter. Basically you paid £10 before and this got you all the HD channels (although assuming not the sports and movies HD unless you had the basic sports and movies packs?). So I have 2 mixes plus sports/movies at the moment, but get Sky News HD, Disney HD and Eurosport HD free of charge. I think that this change will be that unless I fork out another £1 for each of the above (news pack, kids mix?, eurosport pack) I will loose these HD channels from the start of October. Can anyone confirm this? Not too bothered about Disney and Eurosport but Sky News HD does look quite nice to have on in the background. Probably not worth yet more cash though I guess. Just checked their site and this does mention the HD channels received depending onyour basic subscription so Sky are clean for all new customers as well

Like sky don't make enough profit from HD subs. Reckon they should let you have the HD channels on multi-room for free instead of having to fork out a second tenner a month, to make up for it.

Re: Rumour: Changes to Sky+HD Subscriptions from 1st October 2010
Having read extracts from the the letter in another forum it reads to me very much like Sky may be dropping the HD-Mix entirely from October 5th - and that you will thus get the HD channels appropriate to the SD Mixes at no extra charge!
While perhaps unlikely they will have to do something - I, for one, will move to Virgin at year end if they have most of the Sky HD channels then and charge no extra for them!

been told by town centre sky sales adviser that the HD Pack of £10 a month could be drop out because of Virgin Media, BT Vision TV will not charged the HD. Sky could follow it in October. Sky had reached agreement deal with virgin and BT vision to share with BSKY deal.
