Re: Sky will be looking to run trials of fibre-optic broadband
Just a quick question.
I was under the impression that I would need to give Sky 31 days notice to cancel my line rental, sky talk & broadband. But when I called them to cancel, they said I would loose broadband & telephone right away, and that BT had to inform them when the line was switched so they can cancel.
I have two worries there:
1: I do need to give them 31 days, but after being told this, those 31 days probably won't start counting till after the switch instead of yesterday.
2: BT won't inform them of anything and I end up paying Sky and BT for broadband, line rental and talk for a longer period.
What is best to do?

8.5 If you want to end this Contract for any other reason you may do so at the end of or after your Minimum Term by giving at least 10 working days’ notice at any time.
If you decide to cancel or switch your Sky Talk services to another provider, your Sky Broadband service will automatically be cancelled at the same time
Sky Terms and Conditions - Sky Talk
If I were you I would use the Contact Us form to advise them that you are moving to BT Infinity, a fibre product, on 27/10 and that this is your notice to cease the services on this date.

Tesco should stick to selling tins of beans, that's what they are good at

After the hammering SKY took on Watchdog tonight I would hope their CS side took some note for future reference - but hey, everyone's anonymous these days and unaccountable :-((

Hammering? It was hardly a dusting.
We've seen other serious issues on this forum and thankfully most of them have bee resolved.
Connect needs to be sorted though and as for the slogan 'Demand Better'... need I mention Fibre?
