Re: Sky Phase 1 Firmware upgrade confirmed!!!!
We have emailed Sky for:
1) Confirmation this is about to be undertaken
2) Any advice or pointers that we could pass on to people using the V1 Router
So far we have not had an official reply, however we have been told that one will be forthcoming. (This still neither confirms or denies this story)
If I have understood the Mossywell application correctly, then if a website cannot be found the application will instigate a reboot. Reading James67's post above, this could theoretically drop the router into recovery mode. Perhaps someone could confirm this would happen?
In which case I would be tending to edge on caution and suggest that you do remove the Application for now.
However there are that many routers to upgrade, it is just not going to happen in a short period of time and there are no official time scales posted. Therefore you may have an unstable connection through doing so. (obviously would apply only to those who have problems and Mossywell's application solves it)
Until we get official confirmation / denial there is no advice to give apart from what we have already suggested.~ Never, ever, argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience ~

Re: Sky Phase 1 Firmware upgrade confirmed!!!!
Personally I'd recommend to anyone that is using Mossywell to deactivate it and then use Mognuts to set a high noise margin to get the stability needed until the firmware upgrade is either confirmed or otherwise. Though you'll take a small speed hit temporarily, you'll at least avoid the potential for a bricked router.

Re: Sky Phase 1 Firmware upgrade confirmed!!!!
This is going to be a real annoyance for people using the Mossywell app. They might have to endure months of unreliable internet connections waiting for when their router finally receives the update.
Of course, Sky could actually make the new firmware available for people to download, so they wouldn't have to wait, but that would be far too easy…

Re: Sky Phase 1 Firmware upgrade confirmed!!!!
Absolutely no idea of how they are going to be allocating the downloads, some say over 100k Customers a week will be rolled out until finished. Whether they will start at Exchanges beginning with an A no idea.
I would be very surprised if Sky did not make the FW available on their website,
1) It would speed the process up
2) People wouldn't have to wait weeks~ Never, ever, argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience ~
