Re: Sky Phase 1 Firmware upgrade confirmed!!!!
Hi Brian
And the router FW is V1.02.04?~ Never, ever, argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience ~

Re: Sky Phase 1 Firmware upgrade confirmed!!!!
I have had my white Sky (Netgear) router for about a year. On the side of it is a label with: SSID: Sky XXXX
Network key: XXXXXX
Channel: 1
I log into 192.168.0.1 using Admin and SKY
Under Router Status the account name is blank, and the firmware version is V!.02.04. I am not sure if my son changed any settings last year when he was trying to overcome the dropping out and sometimes slow connection speeds. I am on Sky max,(should be 16Mb/s) and in Jan my average was 7.5Mb/s with a max of 8.4Mb/s.
this month the average is 5.38Mb/s, the highest was 7.43 and the lowest 2.5Mb/s. Hence my interest in updating to the latest software.
Does this make sense?

Re: Sky Phase 1 Firmware upgrade confirmed!!!!
Monday, Things just got worse.
I pressed the reset button for 10 secs, as you suggested and all the lights flashed. The Internet light blinked Orange and went Green.
The wireless light (I don't use a wireless connection)and light 1(LAN) flashed Green and kept on flashing. They never turned solid. The power light is solid Green.
My network connection turned to local access only (no internet) so I was unable to connect to any thing.
I tried resetting again and then disconnected and reconnected every thing (power, ADSL line and Lan line) No different.
I can talk to you now as I have an old BT Speedtouch (500/700 series) which I have now set-up.
do you have any further thoughts, or have I just destroyed my Sky router?
Please advise Brian

Re: Sky Phase 1 Firmware upgrade confirmed!!!!
Brian, it sounds like your son flashed the router back to netgear firmware and now you have done a factory reset its lost it configuration settings. You now have 2 choices. either get your ADSL usernme and password from James's password gererator and reset it back up, or flash it to the latest Sky firmware using the netgear recovery utility and firmware from one of these links:
You can get the Firmware from the following link:
ftp://77.240.11.50/
(After clicking the link, then right click and save as, the file called DG834GT-1SKUKS_V1.03.87.img)
As a zipped image:
http://77.240.11.49/DG834GT-1SKUKS_V1.03.87.zip
EDIT, Actually as you have set up another modem you obviously already have your username and password!Last edited by moleman; 29-04-08 at 04:55 PM.

Re: Sky Phase 1 Firmware upgrade confirmed!!!!
I already downloaded the new firmware to my desktop. However as my Sky router will no longer connect me to the internet, I cannot enter the 192.168.0.1 site to upgrade the firmware. Any further suggestions.
Brian
