Re: Google Mail on it's way for Sky Broadband User's
I followed the "visit our site" pointer in the original "Important Information Enclosed" email and ended up at the following page entitled "Using Sky email" http://www.sky.com/portal/site/skyco...tentid=1133910
For some reason, response time dropped dramatically and I am suspicious of the webpage coding because my CPU runs at about 90% when on this page with IE7. If I switch to Firefox, the page behaves normally, CPU is insignificant and response time is OK.
I tried to inform Sky by using the feedback facility at the bottom of each web page, but Customer Relations returned my comments and asked me to fill in the Broadband feedback form instead. So much for a joined-up company!

New to this forum, so apologies if this has been asked anywhere else.
I already have a Googlemail account - does anyone know if I will be able to merge this account with the Sky version of Googlemail once it is up and running?

Re: Google Mail on it's way for Sky Broadband User's
Nope.
The best you'll be able to do is to migrate the messages from one account to another through POP3.
To do that, you'll need to enable POP access for the account you want to migrate from under Settings -> Forwarding and POP and enable for ALL mail - and then in your Sky Email you'll need to go into Settings -> Accounts -> Add another mail account and enter your Gmail address. Google should recognise this as being one of their own and fill in all the details for you).
Note that this process does NOT migrate labels or filters - for that you should look into LimitOne products such as gXFER.

Re: Google Mail on it's way for Sky Broadband User's
I haven't had any emails for three days now not at home on laptop or PDA, tried changing settings and asking for username and password entered what was advised and just loops around.
not a word from sky to say it has been done either.
Not even any in the web version
what's going on?

Hi to all,
My Sky .com e mails aren't working either, I am begining to wish I hadn,t moved from BT.
I obtain my e mails via windows mail, does anyone actually use sky mail its self?

It would appear that the migration date for those early adopters of Sky Broadband, that their migration of email accounts to Google will take place on 7th November.
