      Correct.
      I have a Thomson HD Sky+ box.
Page 41 of the manual explains that:
“To free up space on the hard disc you can copy
recordings onto video or DVD. HD programmes are copied in
      standard definition quality”

I tried it once when I first had the box installed about
five months ago. I was unhappy with the quality of
the recording and find quality is much better if you
      record direct to the DVD.
But it is not as good as the hard disc Sky+ recording.
The poor quality may however have been because of my
Sky+/TV/ Recorder set up at that time.

Thanks Fibre. I am watching these incentives but will wait to
see what, if anything, I am offered.
Hopefully, the squint doing the data mining on the Sky database
will eventually offer me something. Otherwise I will phone.
It is important that members keep Skyusers updated with these
targeted incentives. It's a pity this thread and 2 in the Sky+
section are not in the same place.

Re: Sky Movies for extra 1- for 3 months

I took them up on this offer a week ago, interestingly even though I have a SKY+ box they didn't re-enable Sky+ recording facility but as that is free from tomorrow I'm not concerned.

Having had Sky Movies back for a week and seen whats showing again and again and again and again...I'll be dropping it again in Septemeber. It's just not worth the extra 16 a month to me. My view on Sky Movies is this, too many channels, too many repeats. Bring back the old days of just a few movie channels that didn't need to keep repeating films everyday just to fill up the viewing schedules.

Sky Movies for extra 1- for 3 months

      Hi Everyone,

Just thought I'll ad my bit aswell.

I was not aware of this offer until I read it here on the 27th (Wednesday). It was only on the 26th (Tuesday) that I changed my channel package.

I had the full family pack along with sky sports paying 37 monthly, I kept sky sports 1 and swapped sky sports 2 for one of the movie packages. Payment was still the same @ 37 monthly.

When I heard about this I was a bit annoyed the fact that how come I did not get this offer.

So on the 28th (Thursday) I called up the number for this 'summer sky movies offer' and told them that I had received an offer in the post.

The agent told me that he has checked my account and no such offer was available to me as the customers are randomly picked.

So I thought to my self I'm not going to give up that easily mate.

      So I replied to him
So why have I got this offer in the post, surly your system is not up to date?
I mean you send me this offer, when I call to take up the offer you say I cant have it. You just wasted my time?

So the agent said to me let me just talk to my team leader sir and put me on hold....

....After about 30 seconds he said Sorry to have kept you on hold sir I have added the 'summer sky movies offer' to your account and you should receive the channels within the next 2mins to 4hrs.

I was well pleased to hear that I got it when really I was not selected to get this offer. I will also pay 29.95 now for the next 3 months.

The wife is happy now (at least 3 months)

      Happy days.

Smile Re: Sky Movies for extra 1- for 3 months

We got this offer a few weeks ago. They rang us at home and I thought it was a con. We were paying 21 for the 6 pack with no movies or sport + 10 for an extra box (multiroom) which is 31 in total.

Now we get the 6 pack + movies for 32 for the next 3 months. I didn't think new customers got these offers as we are only about 6 months in to our contract.
