can i buy sky+hd box second hand?

hi,
since i want to upgrade my sky+hd box from 500gb to 2tb for when i move over, im not sure if sky allows anyone to sell them or not, and i read other forums,some people had problems when they bought it (nothing to do with hardware). I do not want a sky q box at the minute as it'll cost extra. will it affect my sky account as well (so some sky boxes won't work and that) ? asking because i pay for multiroom

You can use any sky+ box from any source you like, you just need to pair your viewing card to the replacement box and all should be good
