Watching records in new house with no dish.
Hello,
I've just moved into my new house and have to wait a few weeks for the dish etc... to be installed.
In the mean time I was hoping to watch stuff on the planner. However when powering on the Sky+ HD box it display the initialising message and does moved past it.
Am I able to access the planner with the box in this state? Or does it need the satellite in order to complete the intialisation process?
Thanks
Murph

If it’s Sky Q then I have no idea, but if it’s the old sky box then I pretty sure it will fully boot up without a satellite signal.

No. Sky+ HD requires a satellite signal to complete initialisation.

Mmmm that’s weird because I installed an HD box at my caravan and managed to boot the box up and got into the menu for signal strength etc then aligned the dish. Although I didn’t try playing any of the recordings that were already on the box whilst it was displaying no signal.
