    New Sky + Subscription

    This is a discussion on New Sky + Subscription within the Sky+ HD Supertelly forums, part of the Other Sky help and support category; Glad to hear the process went reasonably smooth though being passed between three different agents is not the best testament ...

      Glad to hear the process went reasonably smooth though being passed between three different agents is not the best testament to Sky's customer service. The first agent that you spoke to should have taken ownership of the call.

      If I understand you correctly you now have Sky+ record and pause functionality with the Freesat from Sky viewing card so that the agents advice about having to send out another viewing card was incorrect. At one time the Freesat cards were different from the standard cards but I don't know whether this is still the case. Could you confirm the card colour and the first two digits of the viewing card number?

      I hope the refund is successful. The reason I suggested a credit is because it can be authorised during the call whereas a refund has to be passed to a different department for authorisation, which can take up to 48 hours, and even once approved may take a further three working days before it appears on your debit or credit card account.

      Yes I have full recording/pause functionality.
      Took the Entertainment pack and Sports pack.
      The card is red (like my old one) and begins '77'.
      Need to check everything is as agreed, via 'My Sky', but assume it will take 24 hours or so for the systems to catch up.
      As I understand it, the agent implied a credit would be applied to the account, we'll see, if it takes another phone call (groan!)
      to sort it, so be it.

      If the agent said that the credit would be applied to the account then he/she is referring to your Sky account not your debit or credit card account and will take the form of a discount off of your next direct debit payment.

      I also posted this query over on the Sky Community Forum.
      This has now been removed (archived), so it would appear (to me) that sky do not want people using this option.

      I am not saying that the Sky Community Forum is biased in favour of Sky, just that I prefer the impartiality of this forum.
