Sjy box ran out of space...HDD became corrupt...Help with EXPVR...PCAT.JB file...

I really, really hope someone can help me.

Today, my Sky HD box ran out of space and I got a 10-7 error. I was unable to fix on the box without doing a full reset and losing 2tb of recordings.

So I have removed my HDD and connected to PC.

When EXPVR reads the disk however, it reads the recordings correctly then gets a 'malformed' error. From searching, I see that my PCAT.DB file is corrupt.

But I have no idea how to fix it. It should be an easy fix (hopefully) if someone knows what they are doing.

Can someone take a look at it for me?

      Thanks!

There was an issue with some 2TB DRX895 STBs a couple of years ago. The solution required that the owner reset the STB, wiping all the content.

I know that there was a corrupt file at the heart of the matter and the only way to repair it was this process. I can't recall the error message which was given, but I think it will be the only chance you have here.

You could attempt a planner rebuild first, but I wouldn't hold much hope. Sorry.

      Planner Rebuild:

      Using your Sky remote press <Services> 0 0 1 <Select> 7

The 'Sky+ Rebuild' option should now be highlighted in yellow. Press <Select> and follow the on screen messages.

      System Reset

If the planner rebuild doesn't work, the option for a system reset is right next to it, so instead of pressing '7' above, press '8'. Once more follow the on screen instructions.

Hi Warp Man. I'm assuming that Kopite is an alias. To repair anything you will need some free space on the hard drive. If I remember correctly you won't be able to access the drive while it is in the Sky box other than to perform a full reset (as suggested by Scubbie) so ExPvr is the only safe way of obtaining write access to the drive, though whether it will allow you to delete a single video file while the database is corrupted I don't know. The best person to help you is mrmt32 though he hasn't been active on this forum for some time. As nobody has replied to your cross-posting on the ExPvr forum it may be worth reading some of the earlier posts for tips on repairing PCAT.DB.
Don't know if it would help but you might like to compare the damaged and repaired databases attached to the following post:
